A Christmas Carol was so unbelievably sad and dark. I cried pretty much through the whole thing, making my 3D-glasses wet.
My mum says I should take another course at the university while I'm looking for a job so I have something to do. I would love to, but I can't afford a bus-card or literature. Plus I'm not that good at focusing at two things at the time, even if it's just 50%. I've applied for some courses in: english literature, russian culture, french, creative writing in english, etc. I will see. In the mean time I'm just sulking and listening to christmas songs.

BON COURAGE!

I used to be so into halloween and holiday stuff, but this is the first year I don't even care. No pumpkin pies this year, and probably no horror flicks either.

About TV: Unfortunately I can't watch as much TV as I use to because of my new cheaper and slower internet connection (makes it hard to download and watch stuff online). I suppose I should take the opportunity and READ some more instead. I love reading but I haven't done it for some time now because Ive been under so much angst/stress. Atm I'm (not) reading Buddenbrooks by Thomas Mann, and I have many books in my shelf just waiting to be read. Anyways, back to TV.

- The new season of SYTYCD seems very promising and fun. I'm thinking about starting a facebook group called: A Mia Michaels routine saved my live. I love dance. Although, in my opinion, Jeanette or Kayla should have won last season.

- I love this season of TAR. I'm so rooting for the boys Sam and Dan. They are so cute and fun, and a bit weird. I love their alliance with Maria Ho and Tiffany Michelle because they are my second favorite team, mainly because I'm a poker obsessive and I like to see an all girl team do well on the race. They made a mistake by starting out lying, but they seem nice enough. I do however doubt they need the money. I also like Brian and Ericka and I would have loved to see more of Zev and Justin, they are awesome. This is the best season since season 12. My favorite seasons are 9, 10 and 12. And two legs from now they'll be in Stockholm, yay.

- WSOP and WSOPE. Hm, I don't know what to write without sounding like a total geek. Wich I am. But. I can't believe how close Daniel Negreanu was to winning the wsope! like omg. How could he come 2nd? against Barry Schulman of all people? And I like Phil Ivey to win the main event, if he does it I'll be super impressed. It would have been even more fun if Antonio Esfandiari was at the final table also, maybe next year?

- Curb your enthusiasm is so hilarious, I love it. Last episode took the price. I mean, omg.

Right now I'm watching Sexie with Eddie Izzard. I usually watch Eddie Izzard when I'm down and need a good laugh. It never fails. Either that show or Dressed to kill or Circle. Or old episodes of WL uk or HIGNFY with Eddie. I wish I had tickets to Stripped. But I don't *sigh*, poor me.

A list of my favorite stand up comedians besides Eddie atm (I change favorites all the time):
2- Craig Ferguson
3- Paul Merton
4- Michael Ian Black
5- Dana Carvey
6- Greg Proops

I hate that my favorite improv All-stars show has been removed from YT. WHY? *cries* I truly must be obsessed if that bothers me as much as it does. I'd literary kill to see a Whose Live, Improv All-stars or Colin & Brad show live. I'm not joking.

- There's nothing better than two white guys singing jazz
- Nothing that I know of

My addictive personality made me eat a whole box of ice-creams two days ago. That made me sad. And now I'm trying not to eat so much candy and stuff this weekend. Good luck to me on that.

So, Barack Obama won the Nobel peace price, a bit surprising, huh?
I hope he can find a way to take on a role as a peace maker.

Today I congratulate german author Herta Müller for the Nobel price in Litterature. And I put her on my To-Read-List. I heard she's a bit like Elfriede Jelinek so I am very curious/excited about it.

A must read... simply because I like the idea. I've heard that it's 95% original Jane Austen... But the cover is pretty. I want it for my book shelf. Has someone read it?

Pics ^^, )
Grrrrrrr... I need something to cheer me up. Too much boring stuff IRL. I want slash and fluff! *sighs* I need to escape.

Norm McDonald cracks me up, he's one of my favorite comedians for sure, after Izzard, Dick & Griffin. LOLLOLZ. (I also like Drew Carey - I miss the 90's sometimes) It's raining like crazy in Sweden - all over. No summer. I've been to the library today.
I got: Solstice by Joyce Carol Oats, and Révolutions by J.M.G Le Clézio.
I'm listening to Taylor Swift (I'm so lame!)
I'm thinking about maybe doing a reclist of H/D fics (and other)... but I don't have my favs here on my laptop... they are back home in Uppsala. Now I'm gonna make a yummy healthy potato salad.

I've been obsessed with art and books lately. I have to get some art for my walls. I'm thinking of a poster by Caravaggio or Degas. But they are quite expensive. I also have to read some books. These are on my to-read-list:

  • Emily Dickinson - Selected Poems
  • Sasa Stanisic - How the Soldiers Repairs the Gramophone
  • Joan Didion - The Year of Magical Thinking
  • Anna Gavalda - Hunting and Gathering
  • Friedrich Nietzsche - The Gay Science
  • Ian Buruma - Murder in Amsterdam
I wish I had some more spare time... atm I just have to focus on my master's degree. *big sigh*

I feel like vomiting. I think I'm going to be sick. I'm not sure whats wrong.... uhh :( :/
But I've watched some nice movies lately (como siempre):
- Shelter
- Les Chansons d'amour
and I recommend them both. I specially recommend the soundtrack to Les Chansons d'amour (it's a musical) I love musicals (if they are good), and I love french music!
Speaking of french music. Sebastien Tellier will sing for france in the ESC tomorrow. I'm very excited. It could have been Moz (for britain) (oh rly) It's his birthday tomorrow. Yay for him. I hope he doesn't forget to eat cake. I love cake. I want some cake. But not right now because I'm feeling nauseated. (see current moodpicture)
Actually I probably could eat some cake anyway. I like cake.
Soon this semester is over, and it's summer. Since I don't have a job and haven't planned to get one either I have nothing to do.
I don't have any money either so we will see how that works out. Maby I can become a homeless person.
If I do, I'd like to be one in Berlin. That'd be nice.
I'm reading the grass is singing by Doris Lessing... It's made of awesome. When I've finished I'm thinking about re-reading the Kafka-triology. Fun fun fun. Also known as ensamhetens triologi (the triology of loneliness) in swedish.

Well, take care
Also, I'm sick of poker

So now that I have payed all my bills, I've decided to finally make that list over my ten favorite songs of all time and post it here on LJ. And on my real blog (yes I have a real blog in swedish, thankyouverymuch). It's on myspace (http://myspace.com/drijfwa
I actually hate, no LOAD writing in english, simply because I know how much I suck at it. I'm a Blue van Meer-wannabe and I wish I lived in Canada, US, Berlin or atleast UK. Sigh. But I don't, I live in Uppsala, where I'm studying library sience. And I'm kinda bored.

So here comes the definitive list. brace yourself.

- belle and sebastian - get me away from here I'm dying
